LyoHUB at 2023 Freeze Dry Conference in Breckenridge, Colorado

Summer 2023 brought together lyophilization experts and students to the 2023 Freeze Dry Conference in Breckenridge, Colorado.

LyoHUB was well represented at the conference, as not only an event sponsor, but also with talks and poster presentations. Co-Director, Alina Alexeenko delivered (2) talks:

  • A Quantitative Study of Volatile Byproducts Generated During Primary and Secondary Drying Using Residual Gas Analysis – this talk summarized interesting work completed over the past few years on interesting residual gas analysis findings
  • LyoHUB Freeze-Drying Technology Roadmapping Project Summary which provided the audience with an update on the NIST roadmapping effort which is underway. LyoHUB will have a draft out soon for the community to provide comments.

Research Scientist, Drew Strongrich engaged the audience with his talk, Cloudy with a Chance of Freezing Rain: Vial Headspace Meteorology during Controlled Ice Nucleation by Rapid Depressurization

More LyoHUB work was on display on posters, Non-Choked Flow Modeling in Lyophilization presented by Petr Kazarin and Tunable RF/Microwave Lyophilization of Biologics: from Modeling to Experimental Validation presented by Ahmad Darwish

LyoHUB is grateful for the dedicated organizers of this conference and look forward to meeting again at the next lyophilization conference.
