Abstract

This is a set of experiments designed for lower level undergraduate courses that incorporates novel thin films for drug delivery. The focus of the experimental set is to introduce pharmaceutical concepts to undergraduates while also incorporating general engineering educational objectives.  The student and instructor versions of all labs are provided.

These labs focus on various concepts, including mass transfer, quality analysis, fluid characteristics, statistics, design of experiments, and polymer properties.  A document has been included that reviews the objectives of the lab set, the material and equipment requirements, and a rough schedule that can be followed.

This set of experiments was developed by Rowan University as part of the NSF-funded Engineering Research Center (ERC) for Structured Organic Particulate Systems (SOPS).
