This module provides an introduction to solid dosage processing. It highlights the importance of particle properties and their potential impact on the quality attributes of the dosage form. Unit operations and granulation processes that can be used to control particle properties are described. Mechanistic, semi-empirical and empirical models of unit operations are presented to help identify critical process parameters and material properties.
