Screen lock

There are several ways to lock the screen. The security level of each lock type shown below in ascending order of protection.
Swipe : unprotected, but will have quick access to the Home screen
Pattern : draw a simple pattern with your finger to unlock the device
PIN : enter a numeric PIN of at least four digits to unlock the device
Password : enter an alphanumeric password to unlock the device

It is very important that you remember your screen unlock pattern, PIN or password. If you forget this information, it may not be possible to restore important data such as contacts and messages.

If you set up an account Microsoft® Exchange ActiveSync® (EAS) in the Xperia ™ device security settings EAS may limit the type of lock screen PIN or password. This occurs when the network administrator specifies a particular type of lock screen for all EAS accounts enterprise security reasons. Contact the network administrator of the company or organization to check which network security policies are implemented on mobile devices.

To change the lock screen
On the Home screen, tap  .
Find and tap Settings > Security > Screen lock .
Follow the instructions on the device and select another screen lock type.
To create a screen lock pattern
On the Home screen, tap  .
Find and tap Settings > Security > Screen lock > Pattern .
Follow the instructions on the device.

If the lock pattern is rejected five times in a row when you try to unlock the device, you must wait 30 seconds and then try again.

To change the screen lock pattern
On the Home screen , tap  .
Find and tap Settings > Security > Screen lock .
Draw the unlock pattern screen.
Tap Pattern and follow the instructions on the device.
To create a screen lock PIN
On the Home screen , tap   .
Find and tap Settings > Security > Screen lock > PIN .
Enter a numeric PIN and tap Continue .
Enter the PIN again, confirm and then tap OK .
Follow the instructions on the device.
To create a screen lock password
On the Home screen , tap .
Find and tap Settings > Security > Screen lock > Password .
Enter a password, then tap Continue .
Enter the password again, confirm it, and then tap OK .
Follow the instructions on the device.
To activate the release swiping
On the Home screen , tap .
Find and tap Settings > Security > Screen lock .
Draw your unlock pattern screen or enter the PIN or password if one of these types of screen lock is enabled.
Tap Swipe .
