Major Successful Tips for Writing a Majestic Assignment

Writing assignments is something that every academic student encounters at regular intervals throughout the course, regardless of their field of study. To obtain good grades, one has to write the given assignments exceptionally well, thus making it crucial that they have an efficient approach towards doing so. To produce quality work in such cases, there are a few major tips that will help you make the writing process easier, and also achieve great end results.

Here are some major assignment help tips categorized into three phases of writing an assignment.

Prewriting tips:

  • Determine what kind of assignment it is by reading the question(s) or tasks carefully - whether it is an essay, a report, etc.

  • Assign a dedicated notebook or some sheets of paper to take notes.

  • After reading the question and instructions, note down what all information and resources you'll be needing for the assignment.

  • Start brainstorming things that you already know about the assignment, note down brief points on what you're supposed to accomplish in the assignment so that you can refer to it and gather information accordingly.

  • Gather information from your textbooks, from trusted online resources, from the library, etc.

  • Make notes from your research in the dedicated notebook or papers and organize it category wise or in the sequence that you'll be using those notes.

  • Organize online resources in a dedicated folder, either in the form of bookmarks, or saving the pages offline. Saving them offline would be a better option so you won't need the internet when you start writing, making it less likely to get distracted.

  • Make a rough outline of the assignment, breaking it down into sections/subheadings, and laying down a proper sequence.

  • Create a schedule by assigning different time slots to different sections of your assignment. You can use an online calendar such as Apple Calendar or Google Calendar to create a schedule, which makes it much easier to access and when working in groups. If your research is going to take more time, create a schedule beforehand, and assign specific time slots for researching.

  • You can also create a planner in your notebook and write down your schedule and tasks.

  • Break down your assignment into smaller tasks and create a checklist so you can check the tasks off one by one as you start doing your assignment, giving you a sense of progress and motivation to keep going.

  • Make sure to include in your schedule enough time for editing and proofreading your final draft, and a break for one or two days before that.

Writing tips:

  • Taking the help of the outline that you created, start writing your assignment by expanding on the brief points that you noted, section wise.

  • Maintain a smooth flow of information and a consistent tone of writing.

  • Keep the writing simple and easily understandable.

  • You can write a conclusion to your assignment first if there is one required so that you know where you're heading and can write the assignment in that context.

  • If writing an introduction seems hard at the beginning, come back to it at the end. Just make sure you have the main purpose of the assignment in my mind so that you can stick to it without deviating.

  • At this point just keep writing without trying to make it perfect. This should just be your first draft.

  • After finishing the first draft, read it, and identify any missing information that you have to add or any unnecessary information that you need to remove.

  • Check if the sequence of your section is such that the flow of information is smooth and consistent. Each paragraph should add new information and continue from where the previous paragraph ended while maintaining a proper narrative so that the reader won't get confused.

  • Change the sequence of information if necessary.

  • Make sure your wording and sentence phrasing is simple and understandable.

  • Keep your paragraphs short and stick to one piece of information per paragraph, while smoothly transitioning into the next one.

  • Note down all the changes that you need to make and then start fine-tuning your draft.

  • Make sure you save different copies of your draft in case you need to revert back to an older draft later on.

Post writing tips:

  • Take a day off or two days if you have time, before proofreading and editing your final draft.

  • Check for grammatical errors and wording, phrasing mistakes again.

  • Copy and paste your assignment in a text to speech engine to listen to it. This way you can identify if something sounds wrong.

  • Alternatively, you can just read it out loud to identify such errors.

  • Use helpful tools such as the spell check function of your word processor, Grammarly, etc. to fine-tune your assignment.

  • Take help from a friend or peer if you need to, for proofreading and editing.  Homework answers can be beneficial for you to complete your assignments.

  • Again, make sure you have used academic language (if required), you've answered the required questions, presented all the information properly with evidence (if required) and a smooth narrative, removed any unnecessary parts, your assignment clean and error-free.
