What Nursing Means to Me

Nursing is a career that requires passion and dedication from the person pursuing the course. It is not a career that one takes for personal and selfish gains, but for serving people from different regions and races. I consider nursing as a life career because it helps an individual to gain experience and knowledge, as he or she continues to offer services. Nursing is a broad course career that contributes to personal commitment from a person learning and working as a registered nurse. The knowledge one gains through the course helps one to care for patients and attend to his or her personal needs. This is a great example of a pre written essay about this profession.

Nurses are the persons who administer the patients’ treatment requirements prescribed by doctors. Nurses are the ones who understand language of the physicians and help in healing of patients. They act as interpreters of information written on patients’ cards, and help the patients understand it. The services of a nurse are essential to every person seeking treatment; these include assisting the medical experts to complete the healing process. A nurse is ready to serve others in a dedicated way and helping the needy persons without any discrimination. I felt taking nursing course was a good way of helping people in my environment and surroundings. It feels good to serve others, and in this case, caring for their health issues and advising them on positive living.

Nurses have an advantage of furthering their studies to increase their competence in places of work. They are wanted at a high rate in many situations, e.g. in government primary cares, health care units and national or state hospitals. It is an added advantage because nurses are marketable to many health care units; hence, one can be able to earn a living. Nurses can put private health care depending on the experience one has acquired, and this becomes a source of living. The course is important because it helps an individual to earn knowledge and respect from their work.

Personal Experiences That Can Help Me Become a Better Nurse

Experts say that doctors heal the disease and nurses heal the patients. This explains the duties of a nurse in hospitals and other health centers. Nursing is a career that implies a lot of fieldwork and other job experiences, which help to add knowledge and skills. Personally, I have started studying medicine in Cuba, but I have only finished the 3rd year of course because of moving to the US.

When patients visit a hospital, they meet a nurse and explain the problem. The nurse will relate the problem to previous one and the prescription that was used to the earlier patient. The nurse may decide to prescribe the medicine or treatment the doctor has to give to the patient. This is what I have been able to do, and it led to expansion of my knowledge and experience in my career. I have been able to carry out patients’ assessments and decide the ones to be discharged and other queries.

The questions I have been answering to patients have widened my mind and thinking capacity to handle big issues. The interpretation of the doctor’s reports and prescription to patients has enabled me to develop fast reaction and detection of a solution to a sickness. The face-to-face dialogues I have had with the patients have contributed to the courage I have portrayed. The advices and warnings I have managed to issue to patients have been a success, and soon I felt myself in a position of counselor. The fear theater activity is now over, and I can assist physicians and doctors to perform an operation. These experiences have developed my passion, dedication and experience in handling patients in health centers. The experiences will help me to be a better nurse if not the best nurse in the future, and be dependent and qualified professional.

How I Will Impact to My Community and Nursing Profession

Nursing is an ardent career, which requires one’s commitment and dedication in place of work, since nurse handles the lives of people. I am the nurse, determined to bring change in delivering services to members of my community. I am delighted to serve all people with great care and assist them to recover from their sickness. I will work hard to ensure that no single life is lost as a result of carelessness and incompetence. I understand that it is difficult to be fair and just to all, but I will respect everyone and give assistance within my capacity.

Nursing is my career of interest and I am striving to be one of the best nurses in the profession. I will work to earn experience and skills in my related field, and learn from others the specific techniques to act in compromising situations. I will work hard to further my studies and to add more knowledge to my existing skills. Also, I have to make sure I bring competition in my profession. Competence is my focus and the main goal because the two features will pull me to get a good job, and even open my own a clinic or a health care unit within my community. I will always follow the procedures of nursing act to avoid trouble, establishing a good base for guidance and counseling of patients in my community to earn body credits for my profession.
