With the chemical formula (NH4)2SO4, ammonium sulfate is an inorganic salt. Although ammonium sulphate uses in many industrial processes, it should nevertheless be handled with caution because it poses a serious risk to people. Given that it contains 21% nitrogen and 24% sulphur, its main usage is as an agricultural fertilizer. The mineral mascagnite, which contains ammonium sulfate, is found in nature. It can be found in coal fire dumps and volcanic fumaroles. Mascagnite is an uncommon mineral.
