Tyson Fury wins in the 11th round with a knockout.

Deontay Wilder swung, stung, and staggered as he swung, stung, and staggered.

He was eventually knocked out in the 11th round in his third title fight against Tyson Fury in Las Vegas late Saturday night.

After being dominated in the second bout last year and earning a contentious draw in 2018, Wilder put on possibly his most impressive performance of their three battles. However, the eventual outcome was predictable: Fury successfully defended his World Boxing Council heavyweight title for the first time.

"Tonight's fight was fantastic. Fury told the crowd at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, "It was worthy of any trilogy in the history of the sport." "I'm not making any excuses; Wilder is a tough opponent." He gave me a run for my money tonight, but I've always maintained that I'm the best in the world, and he's the second-best."

Following his second fight last year, Wilder (42-2-1, 41 KOs) fired head trainer Mark Breland after Breland threw in the towel midway through the seventh round. The Alabama native was brutalized by Fury (31-0-1, 22 KOs), but Wilder was determined to fight his British-born opponent until he could no longer stand. He achieved his desire as Saturday night shifted to Sunday in the East.

Wilder grabbed the initiative Saturday, jabbing and stabbing Fury early on after Fury opened their second encounter as the aggressor. After being knocked down with an uppercut in the third round, Wilder returned the favor in the fourth, dropping Fury twice.

Wilder was more aggressive than he has ever been against Fury, taking the fight directly to his opponent. But his early performance cost him, and the defending champion marched forward and pummeled Wilder, who swayed, bent, and somehow found the strength to stand as the 12th round approached, but never arrived.

With just over a minute left in the 10th round, Fury's right hook dropped Wilder to his knees, but he quickly recovered. Fury moved Wilder into the ropes and sent him falling to the canvas with a looping right in the closing minute of the 11th round, leading the referee to stop the fight without a count.

Despite being dazed and exhausted, Wilder attempted to get back on his feet. He assured his cornermen that he was fine, and according to a Fox Sports reporter, Wilder informed them he had more left in him.
