WHAT HAPPENS IF THE ED PILLS DO NOT WORK?
Erectile dysfunction, also known as impotence, happens when a man is unable to obtain or sustain an erection during sexual intercourse. This could be anything from an utter lack of skill to a proclivity for just getting short erections.
Erectile dysfunction affects over 18 million adult males in the United States. In fact, at least half of all men over 50 experience any form of function failure. It is not normal, regardless of age, for it to be a traditional male disease.
Just 10% of men seek help and half of those who do (50%) drop out because they are too embarrassed to talk to a doctor about their sexual health problems. Suffering in isolation isn't enough.

ED and Heart Disease
Erectile dysfunction is often a symptom of existing or developing heart disease. ED can be detected in around 70% of cases before coronary heart disease progresses.
If you have heart disease or coronary artery disease, the small arteries in your penis will be affected sooner (blocked blood vessels). We'd usually refer you to a cardiologist to see if your ED was caused by heart disease.
Three pills (Viagra/sildenafil, Levitra/vardenafil, and Cialis/tadalafil) are commercially available to treat erectile dysfunction. Phosphodiesterase inhibitors are a class of drugs that act by blocking a chemical that prevents erections.
The first version of Viagra was published in 1998, followed by the others in 2003, and it totally changed how men and their wives felt about erectile dysfunction. Cialis (Super Vidalista, Super tadarise)
Keep in mind that these medications are enhancers, not remedies and that they require sexual intercourse to work. These pills are infamous for not working for the first few days after being taken. To take Viagra, Levitra, or Cialis properly, follow these steps:
- Take your medication one hour before you want to partake in sexual activity, and particularly if you're taking Viagra, take the pills before or after a light dinner.
- You can take these pills four times before deciding if they work for you.
If pills do not work for you or the side effects are too bothersome, we will use alternate medicines. Here are a few examples:
Injections, suppositories, vacuum systems, shockwave therapy, and surgery are all options.
ED Vacuums
A vacuum device (VED) is a non-medication-containing external structure that travels over the penis. It draws blood into the penis when inserted, and is then kept in place by a special ring around the base of the penis.
VEDs are generally thought to be risk-free (although there have been some very rare but serious complications).Injections for ED
You may also use a small needle to administer drugs directly into the penis. Medications and medication formulations include alprostadil (Edex, Caverject), phentolamine, and papavarine (usually given in combination as Bimix or Trimix).
You should get an erection within five to ten minutes of taking this medication. The duration of your erection will range from 20 to 60 minutes.
Injections require time to prepare, and getting the right dose can be difficult at first. The first injection is typically given in the clinic to show you how to handle it and to ensure that we have a good idea of the optimal dose. Our patients are normally worried about having their penis inserted, but they are often surprised by how painless the treatment is.
Suppositories with Erectile Dysfunction
MUSE urethral suppositories (MUSE) contain the same alprostadil ingredient as ED injections, except in a pellet form. The pellet will be inserted and melted in your urethra (urinary channel).
Like vaccines, we also give the first suppository to our clinic to ensure there are no complications and that you are pleased.
- Alternatives to ED Surgery
- Drug medications for erectile dysfunction may produce satisfying erections, but they do not provide a long-term cure. They're more like band-aids than full-fledged treatments for the symptoms.
- The majority of men and their wives want:
- A firm and satisfying erection for sexual intercourse;
- The ability to be adventurous in their sex lives.
- The ability to predict and regulate how long an erection will last and how often they will use it, as well as estimate and track how long it will last and how often they will use it.
- An erection that occurs without the use of any devices or other obstructions.
Penile implants are now the only way to achieve a natural erection by therapy. Implants are definitely the winner in terms of overall satisfaction, with a satisfaction rating of about 95%. (compared to 50 percent for pills, 40 percent for injections, and 20 percent for vacuum devices).
