Why is baking chicken a healthier option than frying?

Chicken is known as one of the healthier options in the meat category. The US Department of Agriculture recommends that people eat 2-3 servings of lean meats per day for optimum nutritional intake, and chicken is a perfect example of this. Chicken is low in calories, high in protein, and doesn't have nearly as much fat as red meats do.

Breaded chicken should be avoided

However, chicken that has been breaded and then fried is far less healthy. The breading adds calories by increasing the overall weight of the food. By coating chicken in flour or batter, it's essentially like adding another layer of meat to your meal.

This means more fat is absorbed, which adds unnecessary calories to the meal.

Not only does breading in the chicken add extra calories, but the frying process also adds trans fat. Trans fat is created when hydrogen is added to liquid vegetable oil to help prolong shelf life. Over time, it can cause heart disease and other health problems like obesity or cancer. By baking your chicken instead of frying it, you're saving yourself unnecessary calories, fat, and even sodium.

Protein in chicken

Chicken is loaded with protein - one serving can provide almost half of your daily recommended value. Not only that but it also contains omega-3 fatty acids which are known to reduce the risk of heart disease. When chicken is breaded and fried, trans fats are added to the mix causing an overload of bad cholesterol and high triglycerides.we can take  calories in White Rice - Cooked in our food plan to maintain calories for daily life.

Chicken is a great source of lean protein and contains vitamin B and iron which keeps your immune system healthy. By frying the chicken, the exterior becomes crispy while keeping the inside moist - creating that infamous crunch we can't get enough of. Unfortunately, when you bake your chicken it comes out much drier than when it's fried. The calorie content is also kept lower this way. Although it's still okay to enjoy fried chicken every once in a while, sticking with baking can help you save on unnecessary calories while keeping your body healthy.
