Thirty-six participants representing over 11 organizations gathered at Purdue University in August, 2022 to receive and introduction to lyophilization, followed by training in quality attributes, lyophilization design space and process modelling, as well as lyophilization equipment overview with manufacturing set up/floor plan and post processing lyophilization process data & cycle optimization training. The group had hands on experience through demos such as material characterization, lyophilizer operation and analytical tools. LyoSummerSchool was led by expert instructors: Dr. Alina Alexeenko, Professor of AAE and Chem E, Co-Director of LyoHUB, Dr. Petr Kazarin, Post-Doc at LyoHUB in AAE, Dr. Steve Nail, Scientific Advisory Board Member, LyoHUB, Adjunct Professor, Purdue IPPH, Retired from Baxter, Dr. Drew Strongrich, Research Scientist, LyoHUB.

LyoSummerSchool is held in the summer annually in the LyoHUB demonstration facility at Purdue University.
