Abstract

An ERC SOPS educational module. This powerpoint presentation provides background to identify the geometric, physical and dynamic variables of importance for the analysis of mixing in a stirred tank. It inroduces methods to assess the relative importance of those variables and to
quantify the power dissipation, pumping effects, and blend time in a mixing vessel. Scale-up methods are provided.
