Abstract

An ERC SOPS educational module. This powerpoint presentation provides an introduction to the pharmaceutical processing equipment used for liquid-liquid and liquid-solid mixing. The principles of single and multiphase mixing in pharmaceutical processes are introduced along with methods to analyze pharmaceutical processes or to identify those in which mixing is important. The module also introduces basic tools to conduct process design analysis and scale-up of processes in which mixing is important.
